





Holy Ascension Cathedral in Izium, Kharkiv region; built and consecrated in 1826. It was in this old church that the icon of the Mother of God of Pishchanka appeared in 1754 to the Bishop of Belgorod, St. Joasaph (Joseph Gorlenko). The church is designed in the style of classicism, single-nave with a bell tower above the west porch. It was the only temple of Izyum in which worship services did not stop during the Soviet period.
