Since February 28, the reserve, which housed about 200 different animals, has been under constant fire. As recently as last week, this ecopark was bombed from GRADs. Thirty percent of the inhabitants of the Yasnogorod farm died of starvation and wounds. “When we arrived, we saw wounded, starving animals. We are Muslims and for us if an animal is starving it’s a problem. So we came and tried to help in some way,” says a military man. The International Fund for the Rescue of Wild Animals together with UAnimals and locals who care about the animals are rescuing the survivors.
