After the deoccupation of Zaliznychne of the Chuhuiv district of the Kharkiv region, local residents turned to the law enforcement officers and reported that Russian servicemen had killed their fellow villagers. When examining the dead, traces of gunshot wounds and torture were found. As Serhii Bolvinov, head of the investigative department, said, until recently the settlement was under occupation. On February 27, two civilians were in the house and were shot in the head by the Russian military. – Local residents buried people and reported these facts to the police. Shell casings and bullets with which civilians were killed were found in the house, Serhii Bolvinov said. Marya Adyherova, a resident of the village, remembers how she saw that the door of her neighbor’s apartment was open. The woman entered and found the men killed. – At first we didn’t know what to do with the dead, we called different authorities. Then they received a burial permit over the phone from the Chuhuiiv Police, – says Mariia. Local boys quickly dug a grave and put the dead there. But at that time, the neighbors reported that Russian soldiers were coming in their direction. The woman hid the boys at her home because she was afraid that they would also be shot. Mariia had to bury the bodies alone, because there was not enough time. The Kharkiv relatives of the fourth deceased recall that they talked to the man for twenty minutes, he said that everything was fine with him, but then it was impossible to call him. After some time, a stranger answered his phone and said that the man had been killed. Another body of a murdered man was found on the territory of the enterprise. In the village of Zaliznychne, the military killed the following civilians: Serhii, 61 years old. Shot in the back in his home. Neighbors buried the body in the garden. Ilham, 58, and Kostiantyn. Buried in Ilham’s yard, bullet wounds in the head were found during the examination. Volodymyr, 47 years old. The body had been lying on the factory tower opposite the station since February 26. According to locals, he was shot with a machine gun. The bodies of all the dead have been sent for expert examination.
