The russians set up an officer’s headquarters in a private house in the village of Mali Prokhody in the Kharkiv region. The Ukrainian military found a headquarters in the de-occupied village of Mali Prokhody, where the russian occupiers were located. “This is a private house in which the officers of the occupying forces lived. You can see what they left behind: painted walls with occupation drawings, inscriptions. Our population was freed from a peaceful life,” said territorial defense serviceman Vladyslav. The house is completely destroyed inside. There are no windows, walls and ceiling are destroyed. During the occupation, Oleksii Muravlov continued to live in the village. “They decided who should live and who not. They lived to their own satisfaction. My father and I were enemies for them. They stole. “People will come back, so what are you doing?… The people’s militia decides everything..”” the man recalls. They profited from the fact that all the houses were cleaned,” says Oleksii. He also mentions that people were taken “to the pit” simply because people wanted to live. Among those who were taken away by the russians were women over 60 years old. People were also taken to russia. Before that, they were intimidated by russian narratives about Ukrainian fighters. “They threatened to shoot my knees. In short, we were unpaid labor for them. They told to prepare the forest, to clean everything after them. You don’t want to work, are you for Ukraine? Well, go and work,” says the local. “They were punished for everything. I keep a household, so I am wealthy. They already wanted to hold a referendum here, but Ukrainians came in time. They ran away like rats from the ship,” adds Oleksii. Together with their father, they “worked at the pit” for several months. They were forced to work for their pro-Ukrainian position and for the fact that they did not silently watch what the russians were doing in the village. Russian occupiers took his niece’s children’s things, electrical equipment, a set of knives, a microwave oven and fuel from Oleksii’s house.
