Shyroka Balka village in the Mykolaiv region residents report a change in the state of the Buh estuary water, which has an extremely unpleasant smell. 28 October 2022, waterfowl climbed out of the water to the shore, they were almost immobilized, half-dead.Today they have already died, a local resident said. The cause of the environmental disaster was sunflower oil that got into the estuary — thousands of tons of liquid leaked from the oil storage tanks damaged by a Russian Federation drone attack on October 17. Rivers of sunflower oil flowed through the streets; as a result, they got into the sewage system and into the estuary.
