During the first months of the full-scale invasion, the Russians actively bombarded Kharkiv and the region from airplanes. It was from one of these shellings on March 9 in the village of Slobozhanske, Izium district, that the residents of building No. 10 on the Tsentralna Street were killed: 34-year-old Olha with her son Oleh, who was 1 year and 9 months old, 10-year-old Natalia, 43-year-old Serhiy and Kateryna.

On March 9, as a result of aerial bombardment of the village, they died in a multi-story building that was destroyed. Enemy ammunition hit the multi-story residential building in which the victims were located. Fragments of their bodies were buried by local residents in the village cemetery.

On November 25, law enforcement officers conducted an exhumation and removed the remains of the victims. Currently, their bodies have been sent for forensic examinations. The preliminary cause of their death is mine-explosive injuries.
