Military actions conducted by the Russian Federation cause irreparable damage to the nature. The full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine created numerous consequences for the environment. The war deteriorated the ecological situation. As a result of shelling and fires, soil and plants layers are destroyed, animals die, air and water are polluted, landscapes are demolished, forests are burning, and the land is littered with the remains of destroyed military equipment, fuel and lubricants. The damage caused by the armed aggression of the Russian invaders on the territory of the Kharkiv region already amounts to more than UAH 100 billion.
