Sonia lives with her mother and grandfather across the river in Bakhmut. This is the most bombed place in the town. The family has their own farm, and cows. Mom says she can’t leave the cows because they’re like family members. The daughter says she can’t leave Mom. Some time ago, Grandpa was walking one of the cows out of the barn. She didn’t want to go. She felt something was wrong. After a while, an Russian artillery shell came. The explosion was from the side of the cow. She died on the spot, and she saved the life of Sonia’s grandfather.
