The cities of Orikhiv and Stepnohirsk came under heavy artillery fire from the Russian armed forces again. As a result of the shelling of Prymorske village in the Stepnohirsk territorial community in the morning of 5th January, two people were killed and three others were injured. Among the casualties were employees of the village council, who were on their way to deliver firewood to people: one employee was killed, and one – injured.

Russian servicemen shelled the village of Prymorske, Vasylivka district, with Grad anti-aircraft guns. Six local residents fell under the debris of exploding shells. At that time, five of them were driving in a car to deliver firewood to fellow villagers. A 31-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman were taken to the hospital with shrapnel wounds to the head. Another passenger of the car – a 51-year-old local resident – died. This day was the last for another woman, born in 1980, who was near the place of impact during the shelling. She died from shrapnel injuries. Residents of Orikhiv and nearby villages reported that shells hit residential premises and homesteads.
