On January 9, at around 9:10 a.m., the Russian troops launched a rocket attack on Shevchenkove village of Kupiansk district. The Russian missile hit the territory of the local market. As a result of the shelling, 9 commercial objects were destroyed: pavilions and trading booths, two of them caught fire, the total area of which was about 50 square meters. Eight people, according to detailed information from the prosecutor’s office, were injured during a rocket attack on the market in Shevchenkove. Among them are two women who died. Six more people were injured, including four women, a 23-year-old man and a 10-year-old girl. The wreckage of the S-300 air defense system was found at the site. According to preliminary data, the Russian army fired at the settlement from the territory of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation. During the day, settlements in Chuhuiv and Kupiansk districts were also affected. A 43-year-old man was injured by a shell explosion in the village of Dvorichna. Border villages of the Kharkiv district were also attacked by the Russian occupiers. As a result of shelling, property of citizens was damaged.
