On April 5, the Russian army chaotically shelled Kherson and its surroundings. One of the strikes hit a critical infrastructure object, where a fire started due to a Russian projectile. The communities of Beryslav and Kherson districts were under devastating hits of Russian troops. Russian occupiers shelled peaceful settlements with multiple rocket launchers, heavy artillery, mortars, tanks and UAVs. As a result of shelling in Beryslav, private houses and a shop were damaged and a 54-year-old man was wounded. The Russian army fired at the residential quarters of Kherson around the clock, the city center and the coastal areas were under artillery fire from the left bank of the Dnipro river. Two utility companies were damaged and destroyed, windows and roofs were broken in administrative buildings, facades were cut by shrapnel; the territory of the port, private and apartment buildings in the Korabel microdistrict were also damaged.
