On May 16, Russian troops shelled the village of Molodizhne, Kherson district, as a result of which three children were injured. An 8-year-old girl has a mine-explosive injury and brain contusion, her 10-year-old sister and 7-year-old brother have an acute reaction to stress. A 49-year-old resident of the village received a mine-explosive injury and concussion. Also, in Molodizhne, damage to apartment buildings and private houses was recorded, cars were cut by shrapnel. The Russian army carried out airstrikes on the village of Kizomys and the city of Beryslav, damage was recorded to the hospital building, residential buildings, industrial workshops on the territory of a non-working enterprise and gas station. The Russian occupiers opened mortar fire on the village of Kozatske, as a result of which a 49-year-old local resident was injured. For almost three hours, the Russian forces shelled the Mykhailivka village with artillery, dropped ammunition from drones on the territory of the cemetery and its surroundings. No human casualties or significant damage were recorded. The residential quarters of Kherson were shelled by the Russian army around the clock, the city center and the coastal areas came under artillery fire from the temporarily occupied left bank of the Dnipro river. Private and apartment buildings were damaged and destroyed, the Russian shells caused fires. At night, the Russians fired at a utility company that supplied the townspeople with electricity from 120-mm mortars. Several pieces of equipment burned, a fire broke out, as a result of which equipment worth millions of hryvnias was damaged.
